The Building Healthy Places Initiative’s work on healthy communities, buildings, design, and the real estate industry promotes industry change and help members shape healthier places—from individual properties to cities.
The coronavirus has elevated the importance of health in real estate. This list has resources for land use professionals on COVID-19 mitigation, and its impacts on healthy buildings, the built environment, and the workplace.
By addressing pressing health challenges and proactively promoting health and social equity, real estate leaders can reduce risks and build projects and places of enduring value.
Key Activities
Creative placemaking approaches help build strong, healthy cities by promoting the integration of arts and culture in community revitalization. ULI’s Creative Placemaking Project develops resources about effective creative placemaking strategies.
The Joint Call to Action to Promote Healthy Communities is a collaborative effort of eight member organizations, including ULI, representing over 500,000 land use professionals. The Coalition has published ten discussion guides to highlight successful cross-disciplinary collaborations for healthy, equitable communities.
