District Council Partnerships for Health Equity
Charting More Equitable Futures
In 2021, ULI District Councils — in British Columbia, Houston, Northwest, St. Louis, and Toronto — committed to better understand historic inequities and racial discrimination in land use, and to craft strategies to address the ongoing impacts of these policies on community health and wealth disparities.

Lessons from ULI's Partnerships for Health and Racial Equity (StoryMap)
Local Project Deliverables & Urban Land Features
Each council established partnerships with area organizations; organized robust community engagement; and examined the health and wealth impacts of discriminatory local policies and practices. This work resulted in local action plans to promote antiracism and health equity in real estate practice, as well as broader policy recommendations. In addition to a StoryMap and synthesis report, each team produced a local deliverable and was featured in Urban Land Online.
