Why Friar’s Court?
Friar’s Court is a $3.7 million dollar historic rehabilitation of 7 “turn of the century” buildings, courtyards, parking area and alley located one block north of Liberty Street in Cincinnati, Ohio/Historic Over-the-Rhine. The block is bounded by Race, Liberty, Republic and Greet Streets and includes the 22 unit community of St. Anthony Village – 6 buildings that were rehabilitated in 2002 – as well as the St. Anthony Press office and warehouse. The residential units in Friar’s Court were re-purposed and re-configured from 43 cramped spaces to 25 modern, spacious units. The affordable housing units range from 1 to 4 bedrooms and rent from $411 to $797 per month excluding utilities. Maximum household incomes vary from $21,140 to $49,020. There is no rental subsidy for residents. Cornerstone Corporation for Shared Equity is the Owner, Developer, General Contractor and Property Manager. The development received Temporary Occupancy Permits in late 2011 and is currently 80% leased. Final C/O’s are expected by May of 2012.
