The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research and education organization supported by its members. Founded in 1936, the Institute has more than 48,000 members worldwide representing the entire spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines, working in private enterprise and public service. As the preeminent, multidisciplinary real estate forum, ULI facilitates the open exchange of ideas, information, and experience among local, regional, national, and international industry leaders and policy makers dedicated to creating better places. The mission of ULI is to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide.
ULI Orange County/Inland Empire, a district council of ULI, delivers this mission throughout the Orange County and Inland Empire regions through a variety of engagement programs and events. Events and meetings take place in different formats, including virtual, hybrid, and in-person. ULI OCIE has close to 1000 members who represent the spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines and serves as a central convener of thought leadership in Orange County and the Inland Empire.
The lean and entrepreneurial team works directly with our members, who include high-level business professionals, public officials, corporate executives, and senior members of the real estate and land use community, to help facilitate and move the needle on issues that are of the most importance to ULI OCIE. Because in-person events occur throughout the region, it is required that the Coordinator possess the ability and desire to (1) travel to and (2) be present at and support events – some of which extend beyond traditional work-day hours (e.g., breakfasts and happy hours).
While ULI OCIE does have a small office space, this is primarily a work from home position. The ideal candidate must be motivated and able to work independently. Weekly mandatory in person staff meetings with the Executive Director and the Director will take place at varying locations.
The salary range for this position has been set at $52,000 to $63,400. Actual salary will vary based on factors including experience, education, skills and other job-related factors. The range listed is just one component of ULI’s total compensation package for employees which includes a full and competitive benefits package.
The Coordinator will focus on supporting the office’s program management and supporting programming at our member-facing events. The job is heavily focused on “back of the house” book-keeping, record-keeping, and event planning with some “front of the house” event and program management and attendance. As an integral part of the staff team, The Coordinator is also one of the faces of the District Council. Members will call the Coordinator for assistance and information, so it is imperative that they be courteous, friendly, relationally oriented, and attentive to detail. The Coordinator also works closely with the Director and senior staff to maintain administrative, financial, and office operations of the District Council, including membership, sponsorship, event management, and communication.
Nonprofit Administrative, Operations, and Communications
The Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for ULI OCIE and will work closely with our team, host office, and ULI HQ colleagues to ensure smooth office operations.
