The Inaugural ULI Homeless to Housed Symposium – November 1, 2023
At the 2023 ULI Fall Meeting in LA, the Inaugural ULI Homeless to Housed Symposium brought together +150 voices across the real estate industry to discuss opportunities, challenges, and solutions for addressing the growing housing and homelessness crisis we are collectively facing.
The event kicked off with remarks about the state of homelessness in LA and nationally, and the potential impact the commercial real estate community can have, from Preston Butcher, Leigh Ferguson, and Rick Cole.
A panel moderated by Darcy L. Coleman, joined by Director Gustavo Velasquez and Marc Eichenbaum, explored the value of public-private sector collaboration.
Finally, a panel featuring Daryl Carter, Tom Toomey, Joy Horak-Brown, and Doug Abbey explored perspectives on the real estate and land use industry’s role in addressing the growing homelessness, housing, and humanitarian crises across the U.S.
