Homeless to Housed (H2H)
Exploring Real Estate Solutions
ULI’s Homeless to Housed (H2H) initiative aims to spark conversations regarding the role of the real estate community in addressing homelessness. The initiative works by identifying best practices and effective solutions for addressing the needs of the unhoused through research, local district council engagement, and awareness-building activities.
Why ULI? ULI’s members have knowledge, expertise, and experience in real estate development, finance, and operation. This knowledge and know-how, combined with ULI’s mission to create vibrant, sustainable communities, makes it the right organization to assist communities and the nation meeting the needs of unhoused individuals and families.
FIVE WAYS TO GET INVOLVED
Shape Our Research Agenda: H2H is dedicated to discovering and promoting the real estate sector’s role in addressing the needs of the unhoused. Suggest projects in your community that we could add to our growing library of solutions.
Attend an Event: H2H leverages key ULI convenings, activities, and existing platforms to ignite meaningful dialogues that delve into the complexities of homelessness.
Host an Event: Bring together community stakeholders by organizing a gathering, webinar, or tour. H2H is here to help! Reach out if you have an idea.
Apply for a District Council Engagement Grant: Working through ULI’s network of district councils, H2H supports research partnerships, technical assistance, and local programs focused on addressing homelessness through real estate-driven solutions. While applications for Cohort 2 are now closed, district councils may continue to submit grant requests to support local programing. Submit your idea via email.
Expand Our Influence: ULI is grateful to the foresight and guidance of Preston Butcher.
