Building Healthy Places Book Club: The Address Book
ULI’s Building Healthy Places Book Club is designed to spark thought and conversation around health, social equity, and real estate.
Our next title is The Address Book: What Street Addresses Reveal About Identity, Race, Wealth, and Power. Author Deirdre Mask takes readers on a global journey through the complex and often hidden stories behind street names and their power to name, to hide, and to decide who counts and who doesn’t—and why. Participation is free and requires registration. All registered participants will receive the suggested reading schedule, along with an invitation to attend all virtual meetups:

Join author Deirdre Mask, live from London, for an interactive discussion facilitated by ULI’s Building Healthy Places staff.
Virtual meetups take place on Zoom and run from 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm EDT. Invitations to join an optional Slack discussion group will be distributed following the September 3rd Book Club Kick Off. Members and non-members may register to participate throughout the reading period running through October 1, 2020.

Author Bio
Deirdre Mask graduated from Harvard College summa cum laude and attended University of Oxford before returning to Harvard for law school, where she was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. She completed a master’s in writing at the National University of Ireland.
In addition to The Address Book, Deirdre’s writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, and The Guardian. Originally from North Carolina, she has taught at Harvard and the London School of Economics. She lives with her husband and daughters in London. deirdremask.com | @Deirdre_Mask
