The Robert M. O’Donnell Award is presented by the Advisory Services program in recognition of outstanding contributions by a ULI member to the success of the program. The award is conferred in remembrance of Bob O’Donnell, a stalwart contributor to the success of ULI. Rick Dishnica is the 34th recipient of the O’Donnell Award.

Rick is President of the Dishnica Company LLC of Richmond CA.  He is an experienced residential real estate developer with years of experience in multi-family and urban infill development.

Rick has served on or chaired 15 Advisory Panels as well as innumerable Project Analysis Sessions and local Technical Assistance Panels.  Most recently, Rick chaired a virtual panel for Moline, IL. He has also been an incredible resource for the District Council on panels in the Bay Area.

Rick is an excellent panel chair and can organize the talent into teams that come up with actionable and pragmatic solutions to the challenges that we face.  He also recognizes the young talent on panels and dedicates time to mentorship.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded periodically to those who have made substantial and historical contributions to the program.

Marilyn Jordan Taylor is the 4th recipient of this award. Marilyn was both the first architect and the first woman to serve as chairman (2005-07) of the Urban Land Institute.  She is recognized worldwide as a thought leader in urban design, as well as a woman pioneer in the fields of architecture, planning, and construction.

Her global stature is complemented by her down-to-earth demeanor and proven ability to interact easily with constituencies across communities, government, industry, and academia, both locally and internationally. She is a leader who exudes not only intellectual breadth, but also deep enthusiasm and compassion in her dedication to enhancing the vitality of urban communities through design.

Marilyn’s commitment and dedication to ULI and especially the Advisory Services Program is unparalleled in its breadth.  Marilyn has served on panels for Hurricane Katrina recovery in New Orleans, Hurricane Sandy recovery in New York, Hong Kong Harbour, the Aga Kahn University in Tanzania, Beijing, Austin, TX and most recently downtown Washington, D.C. regarding the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Rising Star Award is a tribute to newer volunteers who have provided extraordinary services on panels and demonstrated incredible enthusiasm for and commitment to the Advisory Services program.

Laura London is a housing practitioner with deep expertise in both the private and public sectors. Most recently, London served at the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH), where she was a key participant in delivering a pipeline of over 1,000 units of brand-new, committed, affordable multifamily rental apartments to lower-income individuals and households in the Washington, D.C., region.

Laura’s dedication to the Advisory Services program is demonstrated by her leadership, her willingness to step into any role at any time and to give and receive feedback, and her commitment to producing excellence on behalf of panel sponsors. Her breadth of knowledge, and her ability to think both strategically and tactically, have helped the Advisory Services Program deliver extraordinary work products. For these reasons, the ASP program is pleased to present her with the Rising Star Award.

Faron Hill is the founder and president of Peregrine Oak, a commercial real estate capital markets and advisory services firm. Based in Atlanta, the firm works exclusively with clients throughout the United States to provide creative capital solutions. Since its launch in 2007, Peregrine and its principals have capitalized more than $4 billion in transactions across multiple asset classes. Hill is also the chair of the ULI Foundation, and also serves on the Global Board of Directors, as a ULI Governing Trustee, and within the Technology and Real Estate Product Council Leadership.

Faron is new to the Advisory Services Panel program, and served on two virtual panel in 2021: Nashville, TN and Elkhart, IN. In both cases, Faron went above and beyond to learn about the study areas, understand the complexities of the challenges at hand, and deliver a high quality work product. Faron’s leadership and commitment to the group process has earned recognition and admiration from all who have the pleasure to work with him, and for this reason, the ASP program is pleased to present him with the Rising Star Award.
