Industry’s Premier Event is Set for September 18-21 in Washington D.C.

WASHINGTON (August 5, 2019) – Innovations in affordable housing, along with office space trends affecting employee happiness and productivity, are among the many topics that real estate industry experts will be discussing at the Urban Land Institute’s 2019 Fall Meeting, set for September 18-21 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

ULI’s Fall Meeting – the industry’s premier event – is expected to draw more than 7,000 of the world’s leading real estate professionals, including commercial developers, finance executives, economic development specialists, architects, urban planners, property owners and managers, real estate consultants, and public officials. New on the Fall Meeting agenda:

• Innovations in Affordable Housing: Sharing Global Best Practices to Improve Delivery and Management: Panelists will discuss examples of innovative solutions that cities around the world are using to increase the availability, variety and quality of affordable housing in their localities, and how those lessons may be applied here in the United States. Leanne Lachman, executive in residence at the Columbia Business School, will moderate a panel that includes Blake Olafson, managing partner with Asia Capital Real Estate Pte Ltd.
• Deal or No Deal: Multifamily Housing and Short-Term Rental Platforms and Regulations: Panelists will discuss how large scale-operators and multifamily buildings are leveraging short-term rental housing platforms like AirBnB. Cary Kadlecek, director, Goluston & Storrs, will moderate the panel that includes Khushbu Sikaria, vice president – Bozzuto Management Company, The Bozzuto Group; Bao Vuong, president, WhyHotel; and Marley Dominguez, managing director of real estate, Sonder.
• Future of Work: Creating a Great Experience to Optimize Performance: In this session, panelists will discuss the rapidly changing business climate and the trends that drive employee effectiveness and leads to great work environments. Janet Pogue McLaurin, principal, Global Workplace Leader, Gensler; Jeff Barber, AIA, LEED AP, principal and managing director, Gensler; and Dawn Striff, head of workplace solutions at Nestlé, will discuss trends shaping the workplace and the future of building design.
