Steph Leonard, AICP is an urban planning and public health professional with multi-sector experience promoting health and equity in the built environment. As a Built Environment Coordinator for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Steph serves as a systems and policy specialist for built environment factors that contribute to health disparities. She works collaboratively with local and state partners on policy and built-environment change to enhance health outcomes for all Coloradans. Steph leverages lessons learned throughout her career to create more livable places, with experience serving as an AmeriCorps member in a rural community health center, developing active transportation advocacy and education programs, orchestrating community engagement processes for diverse communities and organizations, and facilitating transportation and land-use planning projects across various sectors and levels. Steph obtained a Master of Public Health and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado Denver.
