Molly is currently the Senior Health, Recreation & Parks Planner, a new role in the Denver Parks and Recreation department that strives to bring a public health perspective to the planning department.
Before taking this role, Molly worked at the Anchorage Park Foundation, which was the non-profit partner to Anchorage’s Parks and Recreation department. During her tenure there she was responsible for creating programs that activated park space, while increasing access and removing barriers to increase park use among Anchorage residents. Simultaneously, she served on the board of Bike Anchorage, aiming to make the trail system more connected, safe and navigable.
Prior to her work in Parks and Recreation, Molly worked for various health organizations such as the American Diabetes Association in Anchorage, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Nurses Association doing grassroots advocacy in Washington, DC. She began her career on Capitol Hill, working for a Senator. The Affordable Care Act debate jumpstarted her interest in public health, which she has been passionate about ever since.
