Melony Pederson, 2018 Health Leader

Melony Pederson has over fourteen years of experience designing and managing projects all over the country. She’s had the opportunity to work for large architecture firms, boutique design firms and independently throughout her career. Melony has designed everything from high end custom furniture to cutting edge hotel rooms. She currently works for the University of Washington Tacoma as their Development and Construction Manager where she oversees campus master planning and community engagement activities.
Outside of the design world she’s an active member in her community serving on City Council for Sumner as well as several boards and has a true passion for sustainability. Melony moved to the Puget Sound over a decade ago from Milwaukee, WI where she earned a Bachelor’s in Science in Architecture. She since received a degree in Urban Studies from the University of Washington Tacoma, taught a Sustainable Development Course at UW and achieved her LEED ID&C and ND accreditations. She is currently enrolled in the MSRE program at the University of Washington and is looking forward to helping create a more equitable, healthy and sustainable built environment.
