    Laurent Lavergne

    Global Head of Sustainability, AXA IM Alts

    Laurent Lavergne is Global Head of Sustainability. In his role, Laurent is responsible for the development and deployment of AXA IM Alts sustainability strategy across all AXA IM Alts business lines comprising Real Estate, Infrastructure, Alternative Credit and Natural Capital & Impact Investments. Laurent has also been a member of the AXA Im Alts Real Estate Investment Committee since 2013. Prior to his current role, Laurent was Global Head of Asset Management & Development, leading on the strategy for a global and highly diversified real estate portfolio. Before that, Laurent held the roles of CoHead of Fund Management and Head of Separate Accounts and International Development (2013-2016) for AXA IM Alts. Additionally, he was also Head of Fund Management for AXA Group’s clients for AXA IM - Real Assets from 2007. From 1999 to 2007, Laurent was Global Head of Corporate Finance at AXA IM - Real Assets, working on the structuring and execution of numerous real estate transactions on a global basis, as well as the structuring of funds, club deals and joint ventures, debt financing negotiations and currency/rate hedging. Laurent has more than 28 years of experience in real estate investment and management and has been at AXA IM Alts since 1994. Laurent holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ecole de Management de Normandie, with his chosen field of study Accounting & Finance.

Etienne holds a MA in International Relations and MA in International Trade from the International Relations Studies Institute in Paris and a MSC in Urbanisation and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences. An accomplished athlete, Etienne has completed 10 marathons and enjoys playing tennis, sailing, skiing, cycling and all activities that reflect his love of the outdoors. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and two young children, where he also contributes to the community by promoting sustainable practices both professionally and personally.

    Katherine Sherwin

    Global Head of Infrastructure and Real Estate Sustainable Investing, BlackRock

    Katherine Sherwin is the Global Head of Infrastructure and Real Estate Sustainable Investing and a senior member of the BlackRock Private Markets Sustainable Investing Team. The Private Markets Sustainable Investing Team is responsible for instilling BlackRock's firm-wide sustainable investing strategy across the Equity Private Markets platform, including BlackRock's Infrastructure, Real Estate and Private Equity businesses.  Katherine leads the development and implementation of strategies that advance ESG integration and sustainable investing principles across BlackRock's global Infrastructure and Real Estate platforms, which collectively manage over $60 billion in equity and debt investments and investor commitments. She works with BlackRock's Infrastructure and Real Estate investment teams to integrate sustainability and transition considerations within their investment processes, asset management activities and product strategy, design and development.  Katherine is also responsible for sustainability regulatory compliance, ESG reporting and client engagement for BlackRock's Infrastructure and Real Estate platforms and manages the submissions into industry ESG benchmarking programmes, including the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB). She is Chair of the GRESB Infrastructure Standards Committee and Chair of the British Property Federation (BPF) Sustainability Committee.

    Esther An

    Chief Sustainability Officer, City Developments Limited

    A pioneering green building and sustainability advocate for over two decades, Esther has been instrumental in establishing CDL’s leadership in sustainability. It is ranked top real estate company on the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World since 2020. It became the first real estate conglomerate in Southeast Asia to sign the World Green Building Council’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings in February 2021. Named by Reuters as one of 25 trailblazing women leaders in climate 2023, Esther’s pioneering ESG initiatives include publishing the first sustainability report in Singapore in 2008 and issuing the first green bond by a Singaporean company in 2017. The chairperson of the Sustainability Report Advisory Committee in Singapore, she also sits on board the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Supervisory Board, GRESB Foundation Board, and UN PRI Real Estate Advisory Committee. She chairs the World Green Building Council Corporate Advisory Board; the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association’s ESG Committee; and co-chairs the Urban Land Institute Singapore’s Sustainability Product Council. A forerunner in embracing the UN SDGs, Esther was conferred 2018 SDG Pioneer for Green Infrastructure and A Low Carbon Economy by the UN Global Compact. A G20 Empower Advocate in 2022, Esther recognises that youth engagement and female empowerment is crucial for sustainable development. She founded the Women4Green network in 2017 and the Youth4Climate initiative in 2018.
