    Strategic Advisor for Technical Assistance and Community Solutions, U.S. Department of Transportation

    Mariia Zimmerman serves as USDOT’s Strategic Advisor for Technical Assistance and Community Solutions. In this capacity she is helping to coordinate efforts across the Department of Transportation to enable communities to access design, develop and deliver transformative infrastructure projects. Mariia comes to USDOT from MZ Strategies, LLC the urban planning and policy firm she founded in 2012. She brings deep experience leading a range of technical assistance and research projects focused on transportation’s role in supporting equitable community development.

    Keith Baker

    Executive Director, ReConnect Rondo

    Keith Baker is the executive director for ReConnect Rondo, Inc., an umbrella advocacy organization committed to addressing racial disparities in Minnesota. Keith is leading the organization’s mission to revitalize the Rondo Community with a land bridge that reconnects Rondo and creates Minnesota’s first African American cultural enterprise district. Keith has more than 35 years of experience in the public, private and nonprofit sectors.

    Matt Norris

    Senior Director, Building Healthy Places, Urban Land Institute

    Matt Norris is senior director for the Randall Lewis Center for Sustainability in Real Estate at the Urban Land Institute, where he supports the organization’s Healthy Places program and other initiatives. He is the primary or contributing author of ten major ULI publications, including Transportation Transformations: How Highway Conversions Can Pave the Way for More Inclusive and Resilient Places.

    Roger Eaton

    Senior Bridge Engineer, HDR, Inc.

    Roger Eaton is a senior bridge engineer at HDR, Inc. He was the project manager for the I-579 open space cap project, which created a 300-foot bridge cap over I-579 in Pittsburgh that includes a 3-acre park and restores an important connection between the city’s historic Hill District and downtown.
