Join the virtual Building Healthy Places Book Club for Reclaiming Your Community: You Don’t Have to Move out of Your Neighborhood to Live in a Better One. In this profoundly personal book, author and MacArthur Fellow, Majora Carter uncovers how real estate development and wealth creation in low-status communities are perceived and can be leveraged for positive change. Carter’s approach challenges readers to rethink poverty, economic development, and the meaning of success.
Participation is free with registration. Registered participants receive a suggested reading schedule, a link to attend virtual meetups, and one email from the author during each week of the reading period.
For Reclaiming Your Community we will host two live meetups:
Virtual meetups take place on Zoom and run from 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm ET. Weekly thought prompts by the author will be sent on Tuesdays via email. Members and non-members may register to participate through May 30, 2022.
