Nashville's Second Avenue: Five Years of Recovery and Renewal

Five years after the Christmas Day 2020 bombing devastated downtown Nashville’s Second Avenue, the historic corridor has emerged transformed. Following the attack that damaged 40+ buildings, ULI convened a virtual Advisory Services panel to chart the district’s recovery. Today, their vision is reality: widened sidewalks, outdoor dining, public art, and renewed Riverfront Park programming have repositioned Second Avenue as a thriving local destination. With streetscape improvements complete and final rebuilding phases underway, the corridor stands as a testament to strategic recovery.
