Emerging Trends in Real Estate® Session Added to ULI’s Fall Meeting, set for September 18-21 in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON (June 19, 2019) – The best bets for real estate investment and development for next year – including markets and industry sectors – will be highlighted at the Urban Land Institute’s 2019 Fall Meeting, set for September 18-21 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
The outlook will be based on the 2020 edition of Emerging Trends in Real Estate®, the highly anticipated forecast co-published annually by ULI and PWC, which will be discussed by industry experts during the Fall Meeting. The Emerging Trends discussion is one of many informative real estate sessions on the Fall Meeting schedule.
The Fall Meeting is expected to draw more than 7,000 of the world’s leading real estate professionals, including commercial developers, finance executives, economic development specialists, architects, urban planners, property owners and managers, real estate consultants, and public officials.

In addition to Emerging Trends, other sessions include:
- Drivers of Development in the D.C. Region: Amazon and Virginia Tech: Hear Virginia Tech President Timothy D. Sands and Holly Sullivan of Amazon discuss how their two developments will influence the regional economy and provide opportunities for new technologies, new businesses, and new markets to emerge.
- The First Opportunity Zone Projects: From Regulations to Reality: Joseph C. Canizaro/Klingbeil Family Chair for Urban Development and Senior Resident Fellow Tom Murphy will moderate a panel discussing actual experiences with the new Opportunity Zones program from projects across the United States, including structuring investment, expected impacts and returns, and policy changes to be considered to better expand the program.
- P3 for Climate: The Real Estate Sector and Cities Collaborating to Address Climate Change: Panelists will discuss how cities are developing new policies and incentive programs to support the real estate industry and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
- Housing Supply and Affordability: What Is Working and What Is Not: Hear from George Casey, President and CEO, Stockbridge Associates, and Adam Ducker, Managing Director, RCLCO, about the challenges and potential solutions to the problem of providing attainable for-sale and rental housing that meets the needs of middle-class American household.
