Developing the Next Frontier: Bus Rapid Transit and Land Use – ULI Seattle
Metros across the country are planning and building bus rapid transit (BRT), but what about land use? Are there development opportunities around BRT? How does BRT add community value? ULI Seattle, King County Metro Transit, and the city of Seattle came together to examine these questions and more, as they apply to the county’s expanding RapidRide system. Hear city, county, and ULI Seattle representatives share the results of their Bus Rapid Transit and Land Use Initiative and learn how it changed thinking about transit-oriented development in the region.
In addition to the Seattle story, this Rose Center webevent provides an introduction to BRT and land use and lessons from BRT experiences from across the country. Participants will come away with practical strategies for turning BRT into an organizing catalyst for your community.
