To kick off 2017, we are delighted to have The Oval Partnership present to us about the value in incorporating art in public space. Public space has long been used as a catalyst for urban regeneration in many countries. It serves as the heart of a community where people can gather and interact. They are also able to create a sense of place, shape the identity of a city/neighborhood and ultimately improve urban environment.

In order for a public space to succeed, it must take into consideration a host of factors that extend beyond its physical presence. It is also important for the public space to encourage and celebrate diversity to achieve the greater social good. This presentation will illustrate with built examples, the role of public space in the process of urban regeneration and the attributes that make a great public space.
