Via6 is a half-block, 654-unit apartment project consisting of two 24-story towers with a six-story podium in between. Located in downtown Seattle, Washington, this project was conceived as building a community — a vertical neighborhood — rather than just a place to live, in a walkable neighborhood near the main mass transit hub in the region. Via6’s primary audience is younger professionals who are mobile and have disposable income. They seek a well thought-out home in a great location at a good value. Different than today’s high-tech/low-touch world, they seek a home where they can meet people outside of their workplace and find a sense of belonging to a neighborhood.
Via6 meets their audience’s desires with well-appointed, efficient apartments — averaging 715 square feet and programmed to make the most of every square foot — complemented by large common areas that are designed to draw residents out of their homes to facilitate community building. The central community gathering place is the ground floor and mezzanine, where the retail/restaurant collection creates a vibrant indoor street scene, an energized environment unique among multi-family projects in the nation. In addition, Via6 is also certified LEED Gold and employs resource-saving initiatives new to the region.
