Each year, the ULI Terwilliger Center for Housing recognizes the efforts of national leaders working to expand workforce housing opportunities. What does the recognition mean for award recipients? Here’s what a few of our recent winners had to say:
The Jack Kemp Workforce Housing Models of Excellence Awards has created a tremendous opportunity for our industry to share the detailed stories of what it takes to create important new workforce housing in our communities. This program recognizes the challenges associated with this type of development and to win this award is truly an honor.
– Urban Ventures, 2010 Winner
The Robert C. Larson Workforce Housing Public Policy Award is particularly rewarding because it is a validation of the utility and effectiveness of the recipient’s concerted efforts to encourage production of workforce housing. Most importantly, the award opens communications with many other professionals and through the ensuing sharing of questions, answers and thoughts better policy and practices evolve on all sides of the discussion.
– New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, 2012 Winner
Becoming a Jack Kemp Workforce Housing Models of Excellence Awards winner has brought national attention in both the public and private sectors to Urban Atlantic and our Rhode Island Row project. Reputation is extremely important to our company, and we know that the ULI “stamp of approval” is highly valuable in our industry.
– Urban Atlantic, 2012 Winner
