Learn more about 2023 ULI Americas Awards for Excellence Finalist, Living Watershed (Seattle, Washington).
ULI is a global research and education nonprofit organization whose mission is to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide. It is the oldest and largest network of cross disciplinary real estate and land experts in the world, with over 45,000 members. For more information, please visit https://uli.org.
ULI Greenprint Center for Building Performance (ULI Greenprint) is a research organization focused on climate mitigation and makes the business case for green buildings by tying carbon reductions to increased asset value. ULI Greenprint is organized within the ULI Randall Lewis Center for Sustainability in Real Estate, which also oversees the Urban Resilience program and the Building Healthy Places Initiative.
ULI Greenprint includes a worldwide membership alliance of leading real estate owners and developers committed to improving the environmental performance of the global real estate industry, striving to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent by 2030, and achieving net zero carbon operations by 2050. The ULI Greenprint community, which has more than 120 real estate members globally, is run with a global and regional lens – recurring calls and exchanges with Americas, Europe, and APAC members are tailored to the interests and nuances of the region. ULI Greenprint members have a shared commitment to decarbonization and net zero, and they come together to share best practices and resources to accelerate their collective progress toward these goals. ULI Greenprint also includes technical assistance through the ULI Net Zero Imperative (NZI). NZI was launched in July 2021 to benefit, support, and advance the sustainability mission of ULI through the arrangement and management of technical assistance panels (TAPs) designed to help owners, cities, and other relevant constituents reduce or eliminate carbon emissions associated with buildings, communities, and cities.
The goal of the effort is to provide concrete ideas and strategies to the beneficiaries of the TAPs and the general public to eliminate carbon emissions from the built environment, via not only TAP reports but also NZI-inspired resources for the real estate industry broadly. The Net Zero Imperative also fosters a long-term global cohort of participants to collaborate over time and learn from each other as they work to implement the recommendations from the panels.
