Sandra Miller
Title: Senior Development Program Manager
Organization: Seattle Housing Authority
Location: Seattle, WA
With over 25 years of experience, primarily in Healthcare. Sandra has the unique perspective of leading projects from the design and construction side of the equation as well as having the operational expertise from the facility owner side of the equation. Through these experiences, Sandra has emerged as a strong advocate for staff and patient safety, the cornerstone of health care design.
Sandra’s vision for a highly successful project is founded on effective communications and a collaborative environment. In today’s health care climate, the stakes are high. With changing models of care, the need for operational efficiency to drive down costs and an increased pressure to invest wisely in capital projects, it is critical that all stakeholders share the same vision for the project outcome.
In July of 2020 Sandra shifted focus from healthcare to low-income housing. Her
career has always been driven by a need for meaningful purpose in her work. As an architect her strength is truly understanding how design can heal and support those that it serves. Sandra finds many parallels in the need to create a healthy, supportive environment. Sandra was drawn to Seattle Housing Authority based on their mission and vision that goes way beyond providing shelter; instead providing a supportive community.
