Lynn Ross, executive director of the ULI Terwilliger Center for Housing, joined a panel of experts to discuss the findings from a 2013 Urban Institute housing report commissioned by Habitat for Humanity International.
Transforming Neighborhoods with Government Partners suggests concrete strategies that Habitat affiliates and other nonprofits can use to plan, build, and sustain relationships with local government partners to address communities’ affordable housing challenges in the wake of the Great Recession. The report’s findings were based on a literature review, a web survey of Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative affiliates, and case studies of three communities.
In conjunction with the release of the report, Ross and other housing experts discussed the findings’ implications for local and national policy and practice during a June 3 forum at the Urban Institute.
