Randall Lewis/Building Healthy Places Forum at the Spring Meeting in Toronto
The sixteenth in the series of Building Healthy Places Forums will be held in conjunction with ULI's Spring Meeting in Toronto.
ULI’s Healthy Housing Project explores how health-promoting features in affordable, workforce, and mixed-income developments can support improved resident health outcomes. The Project is being undertaken as part of the Building Healthy Places Initiative, which develops resources that are widely distributed among ULI member and partner networks.
Healthy Housing for All: How Affordable Housing is Leading the Way explores the affordable housing industry’s achievements in creating healthier housing environments and translates them into lessons for the broader housing marketplace. The innovations in healthy affordable housing present an opportunity to replicate healthy housing successes, as well as to respond to market demand across the residential development industry.
The report examines features, programs, processes, policies, and strategies that maximize project success and improve public health outcomes by providing healthy housing for all.
This report is a collaboration among ULI’s Affordable & Workforce Housing Council, the ULI Building Healthy Places Initiative, and the Center for Active Design.
The electronic version of this report includes interactive features. Readers may click through the report and learn more by hovering over prompts included on the “Healthy Housing Programs and Features” illustration on Page 6.
