Webinar: Preserving and Repurposing Industrial Land for Economic Development: a review of the challenges and opportunities of redeveloping automotive industrial sites
September 10, 2012
Tuesday, September 25th ; 2-3:00 PM EDT
In 2011, the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) published a research study of automaker and auto-related manufacturing facilities that closed and repurposed in the United States. The report provides policymakers with an assessment of trends in closed and repurposed facilities, and also provides communities with facts, guidance, and lessons to model as they move forward with redeveloping shuttered auto manufacturing plants in their regions. Click this link to read the report.
The ULI Rose Center invites you to attend a webinar presentation of this report and to hear the challenges experienced by officials in Batavia, OH, one of the seven communities studied by this report. Large industrial property redevelopments involve a unique set of challenges for multiple stakeholders. This presentation offers policymakers and economic community development officials an opportunity to learn firsthand about efforts to develop a new vision for sites, bring key players to the table and follow a project to fruition.
