Greenprint Performance Report: Volume 9 – A new report from the ULI’s Greenprint Center for Building Performance shows that the commercial real estate industry is making significant progress in reducing energy consumption, carbon emissions, water usage and waste disposal.

Best Practices in Affordable Housing Showcased through Kemp, Larson Housing Award Winners:
ULI’s annual Jack Kemp Excellence in Affordable and Workforce Housing Award recognizes best practices in the development of housing that is affordable to people with a broad range of incomes. Avenue Place/Avenue Terrace in Houston, Clybourn 1200 in Chicago, Keauhou Lane in Honolulu, Conway Center in Washington, D.C., and Harbor Place Residences in Haverhill, Massachusetts have been selected by the ULI Terwilliger Center for Housing as the winners of the 2018 Kemp Award. The State of New York Mortgage Finance Agency and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority have been selected by the ULI Terwilliger Center for Housing as the joint winners of the 2018 Robert C. Larson Housing Policy Leadership Award, which is an annual recognition of the innovative ways the public sector is addressing the country’s affordable housing crisis. Parks in Houston, Texas and Madrid, Spain Selected as Winners of ULI’s 2018 Urban Open Space Award. Two urban parks — Levy Park in Houston, Texas, and Madrid Río Park in Madrid, Spain — have been selected as winners of ULI’s Urban Open Space Award. The award recognizes outstanding examples of successful large- and small-scale public spaces that have socially enriched and revitalized the economy of their surrounding communities.

New ULI Report on the Case for Open Spaces. The Case for Open Space, a new report from ULI’s Center for Sustainability and Economic Performance, makes the business case for real estate investments in parks and open spaces. Created with guidance from ULI’s Sustainable Development Council in collaboration with ULI’s Building Healthy Places Initiative, The Case for Open Space highlights the benefits for developers to incorporate parks and open spaces in their developments.
