Celebrate Parks on October 10
ULI, in partnership with the Trust for Public Land and the National Recreation and Park Association, is celebrating the one-year anniversary of the 10-Minute Walk Campaign on October 10. We will observe this milestone by encouraging communities to walk to a park, celebrating the parks we have and advocating for the high-quality parks we need. Visit your nearest park and share why parks matter to you by capturing an image of how parks contribute to your community’s resilience, health, and sense of belonging. Building Healthy Places at ULI Fall Meeting
The 2018 ULI Fall Meeting, to take place October 8–11 in Boston, will provide many opportunities to examine health and real estate through several health-focused programs and events on topics including the following: parks and open spaces, healthy buildings, creative placemaking, agrihoods, and more. Advisory Services Panels on Parks and Open Spaces
ULI has just published an Advisory Services panel report outlining member recommendations on creating park space over Interstate 94 to link neighborhoods in the long-divided Rondo community of St. Paul, Minnesota. ULI also offered recommendations to South Sacramento, California, about opportunities to leverage parks, open spaces, and walking and biking connections for redevelopment around two transit stations.
