Institute’s Leadership Reflects Global Reach, Interdisciplinary Nature of Organization

WASHINGTON (June 30, 2014) — The Urban Land Institute (ULI) welcomes new members to the ULI Board of Directors, ULI Foundation Board of Directors, ULI Operating Committee, and ULI Trustees, all of whom will start serving their terms July 1, 2014.
The ULI Board members oversee the development of ULI’s business strategy and business plan to guide the advancement of ULI’s mission, which is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. The ULI Operating Committee is responsible for implementing the business strategy and plan as determined by the Board of Directors, and the Trustees provide input and guidance on ULI’s areas of focus that define the Institute’s overall program of work. The ULI Foundation Board of Directors provides leadership for the Foundation, which serves as the philanthropic source for ULI by securing endowment funds, major gifts and ULI Annual Fund contributions to support the Institute’s key programs, activities and services.

Twenty-one new ULI trustees are joining 116 existing trustees, bringing the total number of industry leaders in the distinguished group to 137. The broad representation by members from around the world who are involved in all aspects of the industry reflects the global reach and interdisciplinary nature of the institute.
