The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is a nonprofit research and education organization supported by its members, with a mission to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide. ULI Washington, a district council of the Institute, delivers this mission throughout the metropolitan Washington region through various engagement programs and events. Events take place in different formats, including virtual, hybrid, and, increasingly, in-person. All in-person events incorporate COVID-19 protocols, consistent with ULI’s policy that all participants must show proof of COVID vaccination. With over 2,300 members representing the spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines, ULI Washington is the second-largest district council in the United States and serves as a central convener of thought leadership in the metropolitan Washington region.
ULI Washington is looking for a qualified part-time intern to join our team. ULI Washington produces multiple events throughout the year and seeks a Meetings and Events Intern who can participate in various stages of the planning process. ULI Washington is supported by a lean and entrepreneurial six-person full-time staff. Together, the ULI Washington team works in partnership with each other and with volunteer member committees and leaders to programming for the district council.
The intern will report to the Director, Meetings and Events & the Senior Director and will work on a range of events. The intern may also work on other areas of responsibility in the District Council. Upon conclusion of the program, the intern will have gained experience in the pre-planning logistical process for meetings and events, including the development of event programming, customer service, specifications, and the importance of tracking registration.
The Meeting and Events Intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of meeting, programming, and event management.
