The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is a global research and education nonprofit organization whose mission is to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide. ULI Americas implements its mission through 42 local district councils across the United States.
ULI Tampa Bay is searching for a Manager to join our small and collaborative team that serves
local members in the real estate and land use profession and fosters relationships, learning, and leadership that meaningfully affects their careers, their communities, and the industry. We are looking for someone who is interested in staying with the team over the long term to grow the Institute’s membership and impact.
The Manager position offers a great opportunity for someone with strong marketing skills who is interested in working with regional industry and public and nonprofit leaders to address critical land use and development challenges. Through daily collaboration with a passionate team and committed industry professional members, the Manager will have the opportunity to not only build a network but also stay abreast of the top land use issues and community placemaking opportunities in the Tampa Bay region.
The Manager works closely with the Director, ULI Tampa Bay member leaders, ULI Florida staff, and contractors to implement ULI Tampa Bay’s strategic priorities, oversee marketing and communications, coordinate program development, and support the Young Leaders Group (YLG), Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI), and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
The Manager, reporting directly to the Director, will work closely with ULI Tampa Bay’s chair, volunteer leadership team, and ULI Florida staff to coordinate the development of compelling and high-value content core to ULI Tampa Bay’s annual program portfolio. The Manager will interface with ULI Tampa Bay’s Program Steering Committee, the Young Leaders Group, and the Women’s Leadership Initiative to showcase the thought leadership of ULI, ULI Tampa Bay members, and industry leaders.
The Manager will be responsible for coordinating the development and execution of a communications and marketing plan, including email marketing and social media, that elevates the private and public sectors’ awareness of ULI Tampa Bay’s brand; program of work; commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in ULI and the real estate industry in Tampa Bay; and thought leadership and community impact initiatives, including technical assistance panels (TAPs).
The Manager will work collaboratively with ULI headquarters staff and communicate regularly with the co-chairs of the various committees and subcommittees in the Manager’s portfolio of work; communicate directly with senior industry leaders participating in ULI Tampa Bay’s events and programs, general membership, prospects, sponsors, and partner organizations; and work collaboratively with outside contractors, community partners, and regional ULI colleagues to support the organization’s DEI initiatives, annual Trends Conference, statewide ULI Florida Summit, and community impact initiatives.
ULI Tampa Bay staff currently works in a hybrid setting; however, the applicant will be required to reside in the Tampa Bay region.
