POSITION SUMMARY:
ULI North Florida was formed in 2005 and currently has more than 535 members from Flagler to Escambia Counties, including Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Panama City, and Pensacola. The District Council carries out, at the local level, the mission of ULI by promoting an open exchange of ideas, information, and experience among industry leaders and policymakers dedicated to creating better neighborhoods.
The Manager, reporting directly to the Senior Director, will work closely with ULI North Florida’s Chair, volunteer leadership team, Senior Director, and volunteer members to oversee the development and execution of a communications and marketing plan, including email marketing and social media, that elevates the private and public sectors’ awareness of ULI North Florida’s brand; program of work; commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in ULI and the real estate industry in North Florida; thought leadership; and community impact initiatives.
The Manager will work collaboratively with ULI headquarters staff and communicate regularly with the co-chairs of the various committees and subcommittees within the Manager’s portfolio of work, and communicate directly with senior industry leaders participating in ULI North Florida’s events and programs, general membership, prospects, sponsors, and partner organizations. The Manager will also be responsible for coordinating the development of compelling, high-value content in alignment with ULI North Florida’s strategic priorities.
The salary range for this position has been set at $61,000-66,000. Actual salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and other job-related factors. The range listed is just one component of ULI’s total compensation package for employees which includes a full and competitive benefits package.
The ULI North Florida office is in downtown Jacksonville and the position is onsite.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing and Communications:
The Manager will work closely with the Senior Director to advance the awareness and influence of ULI North Florida.
The responsibilities will include the following:
- Creating and implementing a marketing and communications plan that improves member, nonmember, and public awareness of ULI North Florida’s program of work and increases member and nonmember engagement with ULI North Florida.
- Developing persuasive communications strategies, including social media, for showcasing the Institute’s thought leadership, increasing brand awareness in ULI North Florida’s market, and raising awareness of and interest in ULI North Florida’s community impact initiatives.
- Designing and scheduling email marketing that creatively and effectively promotes ULI North Florida’s programs, activities, and initiatives and improves email open rates, engagement, and
- Managing communications initiatives, including, but not limited to, newsletters, social media campaigns, email marketing, press releases, and annual reports.
- Developing and maintaining timely, high-quality content on ULI North Florida’s website and social media
- Measuring and tracking the effectiveness of marketing and communications plans and
- Having the capability of representing the ULI North Florida through public speaking and participation at ULI programs, committee meetings, task forces, and meetings with ULI partner organizations and agencies.
Program Development and Coordination:
The Manager will work closely with the committee leadership and members to develop and coordinate the delivery and execution of timely, relevant, and high-value programs.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Playing a key role in the creation and administration of 30+ programs a year, including panel discussions, project tours, leadership events, sponsor-only events, forums, mentorship programs, and a biennial awards program. These programs range in size from 20 to 500
- Working with committee members to identify speakers and align the content with the priorities of ULI North Florida.
- Attending monthly meetings, coordinating with co-chairs to produce agendas and related materials, and assisting in the development of content for annual programs.
- Working with the co-chairs to ensure that programs and content are coordinated with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Women’s Leadership Initiative programming
- Working collaboratively with the Senior Director and the Technical Assistance Panel Committee to source and staff TAPs.
Fiscal/Operational:
- Manages and maintains district council operations, including, but not limited to, supplies and equipment, files, databases, records, calendars, inventories, and other district council resources, equipment, and maintenance as needed.
- Works with the Senior Director and other staff to prepare budgets and recertification
- Manages the activities of a third-party contractor in administering NetForum (a member and event database) input from the district council, including, but not limited to, committee assignments, complimentary event passes for registration of members of the press, speakers, sponsors, and other dignitaries.
- Manages the activities of a third-party contractor in processing and managing accounts payable and receivable for all activities associated with the district council, including, but not limited to, sponsorships, programs, membership, community outreach, book orders, supplies, etc., not to surpass 20 hours per month.
- Tracks expenses to improve budgetary
- Works directly with ULI ULI North Florida’s Senior Director and volunteer treasurer to ensure and monitor fiscal health, and to prepare documents for annual budget recertification and
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS degree or 4–6 years of relevant work experience in marketing and/or communications required; a degree in communications/marketing, business/public administration, or related fields preferred.
- An interest in real estate, land use, or urban planning preferred; familiarity with the real estate and land use industry in ULI North Florida.
- Previous experience with nonprofit management or volunteer members
- Proficiency in social media, email marketing, and WordPress required.
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and Hootsuite required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required.
- Proficiency with CRM,
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to work with senior business and public-sector executives and internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate tasks and assume responsibility for them; work with minimal supervision in a high-production position; prioritize and reprioritize tasks as needed; and handle multiple tasks concurrently and completely with responsible follow-through.
