Kristen Fulmer, 2018 Health Leader

Title: Project Management, Powered by We
Organization: WeWork
Location: New York, NY

Kristen Fulmer’s career in sustainability has been focused on driving efficiency in the built environment. With an undergraduate degree in Urban Planning and Architecture from Virginia Tech and a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Design from the University of Texas, she has worked with a variety of scales in the building industry. Over that time, her definition of ‘efficiency’ has evolved from a one-sided mission of resource conservation in environmental sustainability to a multi-faceted approach to deliver the best outcomes with a solution that minimizes harmful impacts – a large focus is on occupant health and wellbeing. As a sustainability professional, including time as a residential property manager, a sustainability consultant and then employment at a large construction management and development firm, the industry definition of sustainability has evolved through emerging research, considering a more holistic impact of a building.
