Jan is a skilled real estate executive with two decades of experience in the profession leading cross-disciplinary teams and maximizing operational excellence. She has worked on projects in the private and nonprofit sectors and is driven by a desire to improve quality of life through real estate development, sustainability, and social impact.
At Forterra, she has responsibility for developing affordable housing, and driving innovation in mass timber construction and community-driven development.
In her role as Senior Vice President at Kemper Development, she led nearly $2B in development including a $1B award-winning mixed-use urban development, one of the largest private developments in the region.
At the Seattle Art Museum, she led a major expansion in the downtown core as part of an unconventional private/nonprofit partnership. She has developed project management programs and best practices for companies globally and has been an advisory board member and speaker at the University of Washington.
She holds degrees in landscape architecture and architecture from the University of Washington.
