The City of Denver is not only the host city for ULI’s Housing Opportunity 2014: Healthy Housing, Healthy Places conference May 14-16, it’s also a living laboratory for some of the most innovative examples of connecting residential development to positive health outcomes.
One of the best ways to see this innovation is action is to participate in one of the three mobile tours planned for May 14 and May 15:
- Participants on the Northwest Denver: The Leading Edge of New Communities tour will travel by bus to see Aria and Midtown, two innovative master-planned communities that are transforming edgy infill sites within five miles of downtown Denver.
- You’ll hop on the light rail for On the FasTracks: Mixed-Income TOD in the Southeast Corridor to visit several innovative developments including the mixed-income Mariposa, the Denver Housing Authority’s transformation of degraded public housing into a paragon of healthy living.
- Take a stroll on the Denver Union Station: All Aboard for Housing walking tour to learn more about the half-billion dollar transformation of the historic Denver Union Station into a multi-modal transit hub has created the city’s top development hot spot with housing in the mix on former rail yards.
