Participants at Housing Opportunity 2014: Healthy Housing, Healthy Places, in Denver this May 14-16, will explore a range of issues related to housing and health including how the intersection of those issues impacts personal well-being. Three sessions, in particular, will address the issue of well-being through research- and practice-based dialogues:
- Why Connecting Housing and Health Matters (Thursday at 9:30 a.m.) is the opening general session that will set the stage for the conference by making the case that safe, affordable, well-located housing is really vaccine for many health ills.
- In Pursuit of the Good Life: The Role of Housing in Health and Well-Being (Thursday at 1:30 p.m.) will try to answer the questions of “what is the good life” and “what role does housing play” in an interactive discussion.
- Growing Healthier: Linking Housing, Food, and Community (Friday at 10:45 a.m.) will cover the importance food access plays in the health and housing.
Each of these sessions will feature an outstanding line-up of speakers, including: Dr. Megan Sandel, Children’s Health Watch; Micere Keels, The University of Chicago; Colleen Carey, The Cornerstone Group; and Rebecca Morley, National Center for Healthy Housing.
Be sure to register online by May 9 to take part in these sessions and many others at Housing Opportunity 2014!
