Improving homes. Improving lives. Honoring veterans. Statistics show that many veterans face severe housing needs for a variety of reasons including a disability from combat injuries and being particularly hard hit by the economy. What role can ULI members and other organizations play in meeting the housing needs of veterans? That question will be explored at the upcoming Housing Opportunity 2013 conference hosted by the ULI Terwilliger Center for Housing March 20-22 in Seattle, WA.
Engaging Philanthropy and the Private Sector in Meeting the Housing Needs of Veterans (March 21 at 1:30 p.m.) will showcase model projects where philanthropy and the private sector have leveraged public funding to develop innovative housing strategies and supportive services for homeless and disabled veterans. Featured speakers include representative from the Home Depot Foundation, Cloudbreak Development, National Equity Fund, National Housing Conference and the National League of Cities.
The Home Depot Foundation is also generously supporting Housing Opportunity 2013 as a gold level sponsor and sponsor for the conference’s official Welcome Reception on March 21.
