Intern, Awards

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Intern supports program development, implementation, and administration of external-facing ULI awards programs, which includes the ULI Hines Student Competition, the ULI J.C. Nichols Prize for Visionaries in Urban Development, the ULI Global and Americas Awards for Excellence, the ULI Urban Open Space Awards, and the ULI Apgar Award.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the launch of new and revised awards programs, in development for 2021.
  • Support the ULI Hines Student Competition expansion by identifying and compiling information about relevant graduate and undergraduate programs in real estate, planning, architecture, and landscape architecture, including faculty contact information (email and mailing addresses) for outreach;
  • Research past award program participants’ current career and contact information via online research or survey outreach to participants and their universities;
  • Compile and clean applicant and submission data from previous awards years in Microsoft Excel and coordinate with IT to import the data into the Committees and Awards modules of NetFORUM and then Power BI;
  • Work with Member Marketing to analyze participant data to support and propose appropriate engagement opportunities for past competition participants;
  • General program management activities, including writing, research, management of photos, graphics, PowerPoint development, database entry, and event scheduling.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to execute coherent communications to external parties
  • Experience with data management is preferred
  • Familiarity with NetFORUM, Salesforce, or other Customer Relationship Management software is a plus
  • Presentation skills are preferred, but not critical

EDUCATION:

  • Strong candidates will be students in Real Estate, Land Use, Urban Planning, or a related field
  • Currently enrolled Undergraduate Juniors and Seniors preferred, Graduate students considered
