The ULI Real Estate Economic Forecast is a semiannual survey of leading industry experts, the latest of which will have been completed just before the webinar. How do the experts see 27 key economic and real estate indicators moving by the end of 2024, 2025, and 2026? How have forecasts changed from six months earlier? And why? What signals are the experts watching for in real estate as they look ahead? Where do the experts agree and disagree? Hear a lively debate between leading economists and analysts who participated in the Real Estate Economic Forecast survey as they explain or defend their opinions. Ask questions or challenge their views about what lies ahead for the real estate industry through the end of 2024 and all the way through 2026.

    Sabrina Unger

    Managing Director, Head of Research & Strategy, American Realty Advisors

    Sabrina Unger, Managing Director, is the Head of Research & Strategy at American Realty Advisors and is responsible for leading the firm’s research initiatives and working closely with the firm’s Investment and Portfolio Management teams in developing investment analysis in support of new acquisitions and strategy implementation. Ms. Unger is also a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Prior to joining ARA, Ms. Unger was a member of the Global Research team at Invesco Real Estate, charged with developing global portfolio strategies as well as authoring numerous thought leadership papers and contributing to the firm’s House View. Before that, she held positions as a member of the research team at Clarion Partners and as a top strategist for a sports entertainment company’s real estate divisions. She has been published in leading industry publications, including Real Assets Adviser, and the research publications of ANREV (Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles), NCREIF (National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries) and AFIRE (The Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate). She served on the NAIOP Editorial Board for the 2016 – 2019 publication seasons, and currently serves as a member of the inaugural editorial board for Summit Journal, the official publication of AFIRE. She was also named a 2022 Woman of Influence by GlobeSt in the Investment Professional category. Ms. Unger holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and a master’s degree from DePaul University and has completed certificate coursework at both New York University and the London School of Economics.

    Bill Maher

    Director, Strategy & Research, RCLCO

    William Maher is Director of Strategy & Research for RCLCO Fund Advisors (RFA), a leading consultant to institutional investors. Based in Bethesda, Maryland, Bill leads all RFA research efforts and develops house views on the economy, capital markets, metro economies, and property markets. In addition to serving on the RFA Investment Committee, Bill develops real estate investment strategies for institutional clients, based on advanced risk and return metrics. He has written and presented extensively on a wide range of topics and is active in ULI, PREA, RERI, NCREIF, AIF and other industry groups. Bill has a Master’s in Urban Planning from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Williams College.

    Lisa McCracken

    Head of Research and Analytics, National Investment Center

    Lisa oversees NIC’s research and analytics team, which develops actionable, data-driven insights on industry challenges and opportunities and showcases practical examples of how organizations nationwide are embracing opportunities to meet the demands of a changing marketplace. Additionally, Lisa oversees a robust research agenda with nationally recognized partners to help the next generation of senior housing and care leaders address evolving and dramatically different consumer preferences and needs. Prior to joining NIC, Lisa served as director of senior living research and development with Ziegler, a leading investment bank for senior housing and care, where she oversaw research staff supporting the senior living, senior housing, and related corporate finance healthcare practices. Lisa began her career as a research analyst at Holleran, a healthcare and aging services research and consulting firm, where she was successively promoted to become vice president of research, managing partner and ultimately president between 2009 and 2013. She is a nationally recognized thought leader and public speaker and has been the lead researcher on a number of national research studies such as the NIC Investment Guide, the LeadingAge Ziegler 200 and other industry-wide publications.

    Emi Adachi

    Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Research, Heitman

    Emi Adachi is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Research at Heitman. She is an equity owner of the firm. Emi leads the North American and Asia Pacific research teams, overseeing strategy development and underwriting for all private equity and debt investments. Emi also manages ongoing research support for Heitman's portfolio, including sitting on the firm’s Valuation Committee. Additionally, Emi analyzes demographic and technological trends and their impact on real estate investment strategy and portfolio construction. Emi is a co-founder and Board Member of People of Color & Allies (POCA), one of Heitman’s employee resource networks. Previously, Emi was the Director of North American Investment Research and Co-Head of Global Research Operations. Emi received a BA with honors in Urban Studies from Stanford University. She is a member of the Urban Land Institute Global Exchange Council, Stanford Alumni Real Estate Council, the NAIOP Chicago Board, and the Lambda Alpha International Ely Chapter.
