Douglas King is a leader in the healthcare practice for Project Management Advisors (PMA), a national firm specializing in Program Management/Owner Representation.
He has completed many international/domestic healthcare assignments in his architectural and project management career spanning 38 years. His work includes the ACHA Legacy Award winning NMH Feinberg/Galter Pavilion (2.1 million SF, $732 million) and the Prentice Women’s Hospital (945,000 SF, $330 million) – two mega- hospital projects with international acclaim. His work influences the design of large-scale healthcare projects worldwide. Mr. King presents nationally on diverse subjects ranging from complex urban/vertical healthcare design, design for population health management; and presenting extensively on design response to the COVID 19 Pandemic.
In April of 2020 – he was Principal in Charge for the design team of Stantec Architecture Inc in Chicago for the development of the 3000 Bed McCormick Place Alternative Care Facility – designed and constructed for acute care COVID 19 patients. This project was designed and constructed in a period of 25 days to beat the projected COVID 19 patient curve in Illinois. This project was built in a Design/Build collaboration with Walsh Construction funded by FEMA and managed by the USACE in collaboration with the MPEA/City of Chicago.
