Randall Lewis/ULI Building Healthy Places Forum
The sixteenth in the series of Building Healthy Places Forums will be held in conjunction with ULI’s Spring Meeting in Toronto.
The forum, generously supported by ULI Foundation Governor Randall Lewis, will bring together leaders in health, wellness, and real estate to discuss what they are doing, planning, and observing in the field. The forum will be a content-heavy, interactive discussion and exchange.
The forum is being organized in collaboration with ULI member leaders and will focus on sharing information about Toronto-based projects at the intersection of health and the built environment and applying lessons from these projects to the work of forum participants.
When: Tuesday, May 16, 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. ET
Where: TBD
Registration: Register by March 8 to receive the early-bird rate of $49. After March 8, the fee to attend the forum is $99/member. You must be registered for the 2023 ULI Spring Meeting.
The forum is open to all ULI members who are attending Spring Meeting. ULI Full Members may sign up for the forum directly when registering for the Spring Meeting. If you are an Associate Member and are interested in attending, please email us at [email protected]. Please note that we prefer no more than two people per organization to attend the forum.
The Building Healthy Places Forum will be capped based on venue capacity.
Agenda:
The forum will highlight the Bentway—a transformational urban park underneath Toronto’s elevated Gardiner Expressway—through a tour and discussions with project leaders. Topics explored will include:
- The Bentway’s integration of public space, art, architecture, programs, events, active transportation, and more.
- Lessons in how engagement among the City of Toronto, residents, supporters, artists, city-builders, and others can support efforts to reimagine the opportunities of urban spaces.
- The roles of public space and real estate in advancing equitable outcomes, empowering collective action, and repairing the social fabric.
- How to amplify artist perspectives and community voices centered on inclusive and participatory urban development strategies.
A detailed forum agenda is coming soon.
Forum Goals:
- Provide a place for ULI members who are passionate about health and development to meet and engage.
- Offer an opportunity for ULI members to share knowledge and insights.
- Update forum participants on the latest work at ULI and other organizations regarding the intersection of health, wellness, and real estate.
