Senior Associate, Advisory Services

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Associate, Advisory Services, will join a growing team of professionals who collaborate to execute the Advisory Services program at the Urban Land Institute. This position would be a new team member who would report to the Vice President, Advisory Services.

Data and information analytics are an increasingly important part of the Advisory Services (AS) program’s approach to meeting the goals outlined in the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Strategic Plan. The Senior Associate, Advisory Services, will support the Advisory Services team through tasks that include, but might not be limited to: visioning, identifying, and effectuating an efficient and integrated systems management approach that will be instrumental in delivering the growing Advisory Services program. These systems are envisioned to connect with ULI’s internal information infrastructure as well as manage the program’s outward web presence.

This is a full-time exempt position located in Washington D.C. reporting to the Vice President, Advisory Services.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Advisory Services team on the creation, maintenance, and management of an anticipated suite of systems to support the program management of the Advisory Services programs at ULI. This suite of systems must have the capacity to build on existing in-house tools associated with the Institute’s membership databases, as well as the capacity to grow to meet growing programmatic demand.
  • Propose and prioritize new projects throughout the course of the fiscal year to support the global strategic plan and regional objectives.
  • Conduct process mapping in order to diagnose opportunities for efficiencies.
  • Advise on systems tools and systems integration.
  • Support the development and implementation of metrics that will measure the impact of the Advisory Services program.
  • Implement critical components of the Advisory Services Metrics Initiative, in conjunction with the development of the aforementioned suite of services.
  • Provide user training, support, advice, and feedback to staff and members.
  • Manage Advisory Services online content and social media presence.
  • Liaise with other internal ULI departments, including but not limited to Marketing, Membership, and Information Technology, to ensure streamlined systems delivery.
  • Prepare timely analysis for use in department budgeting, external marketing, and other strategic needs.
  • Provide support for administrative panel functions of the Advisory Services team, as needed, which might include traveling to panel locations, staffing Advisory Services assignments on site, working with project managers, other ULI staff, and ULI members to carry out panel assignments, and assist in writing panel reports.
  • Produce marketing materials—such as brochures, infographics, and contribute to newsletters—for both internal and external Advisory Services marketing initiatives.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three to five years’ experience in project management.
  • Minor or courses in urban studies/urban planning, urban design, real estate, or similar field a plus.
  • Strong time-management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to create easy-to-understand summaries and infographics for non-tech types.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the desire to be an integral part of a growing and collegial team.
  • Ability to provide courteous customer service and professional relationships with coworkers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with WordPress preferred.
  • Experience with TeamWork or similar project management software preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Teams a plus.
  • Knowledge of social media marketing (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter) for both in office and on-site initiatives.
  • This position requires a valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • This position requires up to 25 percent of time in travel both domestic and international

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
