Manager, ULI Learning


Working under the supervision of the Senior Vice President and executing on strategic initiatives in place, the Manager has responsibility for new program development and curricular design in support of the Institute’s ULI Learning (Professional Development) program buildout. ULI Learning aspires to provide education throughout the professional life cycle for interdisciplinary commercial real estate (CRE) professionals. ULI aims to accompany professionals from first exposure to CRE as students to career selection though mid-career changes and executive development. Offerings include in-person and webinar courses as well as online and hybrid noncredit courses. Major objectives and initiatives will include building out online content with an eye toward best practices in terms of ensuring that course content, format, audience, and learning goals and objectives are aligned, continual assessment of course offerings, development of accompanying materials and resources where appropriate, collaboration with faculty and practitioner experts and SMEs, and collaboration with ULI staff and content experts.



  • New course and program development from ideation to execution with a focus on online and live webinar offerings, resulting in successful learning experiences.
  • Partnering with instructors to determine effective course designs.
  • Mapping course learning goals and objectives to the larger programs within ULI Learning.
  • Continual assessment, improvement, sunsetting, and development of offerings.
  • Design and execution of an ongoing assessment plan that informs curricular planning and budgeting at the course level and program level in relation to certification or learning program.
  • Development of impactful materials, assignments, simulations, and new educational experiences to ensure an impactful experience for ULI members through educational pilots and experiments that keep the Institute’s approaches fresh and learner-centered.
  • Collaboration with ULI colleagues and members to ensure that ULI content and expertise are leveraged in learning offerings.
  • Partnering with the global content team to support the development of global programming.
  • Executing existing strategy, and management and oversight of existing offerings only in the sense of being responsible for their continual assessment and subsequent recommendations on pruning, new offerings, and improvements.
  • Occasional business travel (not likely to exceed once per quarter).




  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Understanding of ULI content and/or demonstrated understanding of how to work with instructors and SMEs effectively to create content and cutting-edge programs.
  • New program, course, and content development expertise with demonstrated expertise in online and web training/education.
  • Curricular design including alignment of learning goals and objectives with materials and course development.
  • Knowledge of technical systems needed to develop and deliver online and web-based instruction such as learning management platforms, webinar platforms, Microsoft suite, etc.
  • Curricular design and online course development skills; video editing experience a plus.
  • Understanding of the experience of the learner.
  • Educational content assessment expertise.
  • Ability to project manage and direct collaborative relationships in order to meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent writing skills consistent with editing, content development, and content assessment.
  • Strong business writing, speaking, and communication skills consistent with working in a global digital work environment.
  • Experience interacting with executive-level members preferred.


  • BA/BS required. MA/MS in relevant discipline a plus. Curricular design, communication, education-related fields preferred.
