About Calligraphy Greenway

Situated at the heart of Taichung, Calligraphy Greenway is the spine that joins the old and new areas. The design adopts the Chinese calligraphy concept: the movement, speed, and strength of each stroke enhances a sense of space through methods such as site preservation, implementation of footpaths, and use of local materials.

Completed in 2012, the project has reinvented the area as a cultural hub that generates retail and urban development, raising land values by at least 20 percent. It is a pioneer project in which public realms successfully blend open space with old alleys, creating a vibrant and safe urban environment for everyday social activities.
