The Resurgence of the Historic Navy Yard (Tour)

Experience the history and future of the Navy Yard, among the nation’s most successful military base adaptive-use projects. More than $1 billion has been invested in the campus’s restoration and development, attracting 150 companies and employing over 12,000 workers. The new GSK Headquarters building, located in Navy Yard, is featured in the Building Healthy Places Toolkit as an example of a project that emphasizes and promotes health.

Bikes, Boathouses, and a Boardwalk (Tour)

Cycle on trails through urban parks and leafy neighborhoods and hear from developers and planners along this 15-mile bike tour—named “Best Urban Trail in America” in a USA Today poll—showcasing Philadelphia’s landmarks and the city’s growing bike network and infrastructure.
