St. John Mixed-Use, Mixed-Income District

ULI Northwest is searching for a member to join our small team of highly energetic professionals. Our creative workgroup is the productive force behind an array of programs and initiatives in real estate development and land use in the Pacific Northwest. As the local district council of the Urban Land Institute, we carry forth ULI’s mission to connect the global real estate community.
The Associate is primarily an administrative position within the district council. As an integral part of the district council team, the Associate serves as a liaison among ULI headquarters, the district council, and ULI Northwest real estate and land use professionals. Often the Associate is the face of ULI Northwest, providing assistance and information, so it is imperative that the Associate be friendly, professional, and an informed resource about ULI. The Associate is technology-savvy and manages behind-the-scenes administrative and logistical tasks for the district council. The Associate will be a daily point of contact for all team members across the region.
The Associate serves as an informed resource for ULI Northwest’s operations, as well as some of the district council’s content-focused committees. The Associate will support the executive director and manager to ensure that all committee work is consistent with the Institute’s policies and procedures and that the district council’s goals and objectives are met.
The strongest candidate will be a highly organized, energetic people-person with experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Possessing an ability to build authentic relationships with racially and socioeconomically diverse communities is of paramount importance.
This position is currently remote, but is based in Portland, Oregon. We are looking for someone who is interested in staying with the team long-term to grow ULI membership and activities in the Oregon/SW Washington region, so that when in-person meetings and events become possible, the Associate will be familiar with the district council and the real estate market. In the future, the Associate will play an integral role in facilitating in-person events and programs in Oregon/SW Washington. The Associate’s overall responsibility is to provide administrative support to the ULI Northwest District Council in Seattle, Washington, with a focus on all local activities in Portland, Oregon, and southwest Washington. Administrative support includes working closely with volunteer committee members and ULI staff to execute programming and events.

At this time, no travel is required for this position. When it is safe to host events in person, there may be travel to the ULI Northwest Seattle office and to headquarters in Washington, D.C.
