Vancouver, BC - Virtual Advisory Services Panel
ULI was invited to Vancouver, BC to address the intersection of work and housing in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside neighborhood.
Ada County, Idaho convened a virtual ULI Advisory Services panel to analyze multiple scenarios for the revitalization and potential development of the 247-acre Expo Idaho site – the site of the Western Idaho Fair. The panel evaluated initial scenarios proposed by a Citizen’s Advisory Committee which center agriculture and outdoor education, recreation, and commercial and residential uses as potential primary development directives for the site. Each scenario and the ultimate recommendations for the site needed to balance the combination of existing assets, open space, and new development in order strengthen the activity center as a year-round anchor and economic engine for the County.

In 2020, Ada County, Idaho convened a group of local stakeholders – the Expo Idaho Citizens Advisory Committee – to provide input on the future uses and functions at Expo Idaho. Expo Idaho is the site of the Western Idaho Fair and many year-round community uses. After community engagement and deliberation, the Citizens Advisory Committee presented three development directions for the site for consideration by the Ada County Board of Commissioners. The Board asked the Advisory Services panel to consider the feasibility and economic impact of each of these scenarios to better understand the potential future uses of the site.
