Jonathan F.P. Rose, one of the real estate industry’s most respected champions of inclusive, equitable, and sustainable community building, has been selected as the 2021 recipient of the ULI Prize for Visionaries in Urban Development. Rose is the president and founder of New York City-based Jonathan Rose Companies LLC (JRCo), a multidisciplinary real estate development, planning, and investment firm that focuses on creating affordable, transit-accessible communities that are culturally and socially diverse, environmentally conscious, and economically prosperous.

Mr. Rose spoke at the 2021 ULI Fall Meeting in Chicago. In Conversation with the 2021 ULI Prize Laureate: The 2021 Laureate, Jonathan F.P. Rose, is a long-time ULI member and founder of Jonathan Rose Companies LLC, a multi-disciplinary real estate development and investment firm that addresses the challenges of the poor distribution of opportunity through the development of affordable and mixed-income housing. Mr. Rose’s business, public policy, teaching, research, writing, and not-for-profit work focuses on creating more environmentally, socially and economically resilient cities. He frequently lectures at graduate schools of business, environment, and architecture on the future of cities, affordable housing community development, the environment, and regenerative business. His book, The Well-Tempered City: What Modern Science, Ancient Civilizations and Human Nature Teach Us About the Future of Urban Life, was published in 2016.
