UPDATE: APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL 8/29/14

ULI women members who are active in District Councils, including members in Associate, Young Leader and Student member categories, are encouraged to apply for a Fall Meeting 2014 WLI Scholarship. The purpose of the program is to support the professional development of ULI women members through participation in the Fall Meeting, and to advance the mission of WLI: to raise the visibility and number of women leaders in ULI and the real estate industry. Through this program, the WLI aims to increase the number of women who become Full Members of ULI.

Scholarships will be awarded for Fall Meeting 2014 in recognition of a member’s contributions to ULI and demonstrated commitment to real estate and land use issues. Further selection criteria is a member’s ability to articulate the benefits of WLI involvement and Fall Meeting attendance to advance their professional interests and pursuits.

The scholarship will include complimentary registration and up to $1,500 expense reimbursement for travel and lodging. In addition, winners will participate in Product Council receptions and meeting days (subject to availability); as well as full participation in Fall Meeting activities including all WLI sponsored events. Winners will be recognized during the WLI Reception and will be paired with a WLI mentor to assist them in navigating the Fall Meeting experience. Following the meeting, winners are expected to write an essay about their experiences which may be posted on the ULI website.

Applications should include information about the candidate, a resume, a letter of support from the applicant’s employer or school, Product Council preferences, and an essay on how involvement in WLI and attendance at the Fall Meeting will benefit candidate’s long-term professional interests. Completed applications should be submitted electronically to [email protected] no later than August 29, 2014. Applicants should email one consolidated Word or PDF file (including signed letter of support from employer/school) labeled “Last Name, First Name – 2014 WLI Fall Meeting Scholarship.” Please do not mail hard copies.
